Our Philosophy on Dog Training

Positive or negative reinforcement?  Do you praise the small accomplishments, the big accomplishments, or all the accomplishments?  Do you give treats or not?  Leash or no leash?  We could go on and on…

Each training method claims to create the “perfect dog”.  The truth is that each of these “tricks” does have a certain amount of success, but few make a lasting difference in your dog’s behavior given the changes in their environment, situation and conditions around them.

Our Dog Trainers

The Atlanta Dog Wizard trainers are experienced and knowledgeable of all the proven training methods. After a free evaluation, the trainer will educate you on the pros and cons of each method and make a professional recommendation regarding which style will produce the results you desire. The most important part is NOT that your dog learns the “Come” command, but that he will do it no matter what else is going on. In other words, what good is the “Come” command if your dog will only perform it in a sterile environment? The same is true for all commands. For example, anyone can teach their dog to “Sit” on the kitchen floor, but can you get your dog to “Sit” at the park as other people, dogs, and kids walk by? Your dog should listen to you whether you are in your kitchen, at the local park, or in the middle of a three ring circus. In addition, the owner plays an important part in the success of any dog obedience program. Of course we can teach your dog to perform for us, but our specialty lies in the ability to transfer these skills to you and every member of your family regardless of age, size, or strength (as long as he or she can speak clearly or give hand signals).

Our Formula for Success

Our “recipe for success” has produced successful results for hundreds of dogs throughout the Triad already. Together, we will teach your dog things you had no idea he was capable of learning. You will obtain an obedient, devoted, and calmer companion for the rest of your lives. Sure, a reliable dog makes your life easier, but more importantly your dog’s life just got a lot better. Why? Because when you are washing your car in the driveway he can now be with you instead of locked away. He can now go the soccer games instead of staying at home in the back yard. He can now be inside when guests are visiting without jumping all over them. Again, we cannot emphasize enough that obedience awards freedom in the dog world. Your best friend will be forever grateful for this gift, and the connection you will build in the process is priceless. If you live In Winston Salem, High Point, Atlanta or any of the surrounding areas your dog will thank you for inquiring  with the Atlanta Dog Wizard.

We look forward to working with you and your dog!
